Artist Notes: The Fruitman On The Canal portrays a boat tethered along a canal in Venice. Everything is beautiful in Venice, including the canal-side vendors. The painting was one of a small number that marked my brief exploration into a Fauvist style. It is oil on stretched canvas, on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides. A frame is not necessary.
